TM FanRun 17 July 2016 #AnonymousRunners #TMFanRun #DRunnersConspiracy #HalfMarathon #RoadtoSCKLM2016 #10k #21k #Putrajaya #Running
First event after a long (a very long) break from running activities due to ramadhan. Milage for the whole of June was not even 50k as compared to 210k (May), 240k (April) 239k (March). That was a bad decision but we do make mistakes kan kan kan?. SCKLM is only a month away and technically this is the only week for final push for milage and endurance before taper week : lower milage to allow more time for full recovery and for the hard training effect to take place. So, I was pushing really hard starting Syawal 1 - a total of 105km with 2 long runs of 23k and 30k in a week. The later hit me hard and I thought the 2 days gap before TM FanRun is enough for recovery. As it turns out, it was not - I can feel muscle pain around the hip and hamstring area (sign of potential cramp) and even worst macam a Calcaneofibular ligament injury. Night before the event I was even thinking of DNS, but knowing so many fellow runners will be there, why not just give it a go, run another LSD before taper week. Venue: I love running event in Putrajaya especially in Persinct 3, POJ area. Travelling by MEX is a breeze (about 30 minutes or so) and parking aplenty. Given time, we can perform our prayers in the Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin a.k.a Masjid Besi. Reached parking area around 5:15am, a good time to just prep myself. Trying to contact the others from "Anonymous Runners" (almost 30 of us registered for this event - should be a good small gathering), but no one responding. As far as i know, Marzuki Khalid and Mohd Yusnisan planned to camp around the event venue, and i guess both of them already in deep meditation state, so decided not to disturb. Subuh start 5:49 and it takes about 10 minutes walking from Masjid Besi to the SL. So decided to just pray near the starting line-up, and after that quickly slip through to the mid section of the SL. Anyway, with LSD in mind, there is no need to push it to the front line, but surely will miss the photo session before flag off. Route: Well all in all its short of the standard HM with only 20.56km according to my Garmin (some runners would continue running after the FL just to complete the 21k). Its rather a familiar steady route with some elevation but not that bad. Traffic was smooth, marshals visible, cameraman nearer the final KM, sufficient signage, good direction and good number of WS sporadically serving mineral, 100+, banana and wet spounge. Performance: OK honestly, initially I thought of breaking my pb in this event (1:40). But with all those mentally and physically disturbing pains, I would be just happy to finish sub 2, and I did a 1:56. Not too happy with it but ok la tu. This time around I am more happy having so many of us from Anonymous Runners running HM. In summary, Zamri Harun finished better by 10mnts than mine i think, while both Mohd Yusnisan (lost steam from begining though usually have a good pace of 4:10 in first 10km) and Fyrus Azim finished almost around my time. Fyrus Azim started quite strong at the beginning, probably 2km in front, and this time with proper running shoe despite being a strong promoter of minimalism. Soon after the PICC, he slowed down. I was thinking of finishing together but I am not sure what's in his mind. We had a bit chat on who is ahead and behind, but once he give a go ahead sign, I left him, up my pace trying to catch Zamri Harun. But mission aborted, slow jog sudah la... hehhehe. I am impressed with Mohd Habib Fadhullah with a 2:00 time, which I noticed his improvement in milage, pace and determination of late. Bravo bro keep it up. Congrats also to those completed the run SUCCESSFULLY Syahmie Hassan, Diana Syahmie, Mohd Irwan Bin Ismail, Marzuki Khalid, Tharmendren Mahadevan, Ain MdZin, ARashid Ellizza, Fitri Zaini, Mohd Rizwan Jamal, Jesse Erskine, Ismail Razali, Fafan CantoNa, Sefiyyah Rajimin, Saya Wanie, Ahmad Naufal, Bhuvana Sumangali, Abdul Halim Ahmad and alamak yang lain2 lah jugak...
Hey guys, I heard there is a new trick though.... Run several KM, chit chat with the WS girls show muka kesian then tompang naik motor to another WS and pickup a taxi .. eh no, ambulance till KM19.9 then walk through the FL collect your medal for the drop of sweats and tears. Well, you are still a WINNER. Drama: Should have skip this part but, pic from official photoks will soon reveal somehow. I was already giving up finishing strong the final 3 km, just walk and run and finally reaching the corner that I can see the FL, which is a great relieve. Few meters in front of me couple of runners horsing the final push but i saw one female runner moving one kind. Its like a car with a front punctured tyre. She's running very slowly, weakly and start swinging to the right and I had a feeling she's going to faint. Quickly I ran beside her and ask if she's ok, which she replied she is not. So I asked her to hold my hand and just walk slowly. She's very cold and I am so worried she will just fell off. If that is the case I honestly do not know what to do. I am not trained nor experience such situation and as far as i know that can be fatal too. FL is about 0.8k away, so I keep asking her to follow me breathing in and out slowly. At some point she's not responding and her eyes almost closed. So i point my finger towards the FL and ask her if she can see my finger. A simple nod and we keep walking while I continue talking to her just to make sure she is conscious. Then later on she started to respond, walking a bit faster and even try to run. But I ask her just keep walking. Reaching the FL, I am surprise that none of the official responding to assist. Probably that's part of the procedure of it is just a common situation. So I ask for medic and they showed me a stretcher. They ask me if she is ok and I told them its negative. She cant stand on her own so I help her to sit on the stretcher before the official came to her put a podium tag around her neck and write down her details. I left her with the officials, surely better hands to handle her situation, collect my medal and water and finish the race. I am happy she made it and actually surprise with her podium position (not sure what category and position, but for sure its 21k).
Sometimes, its not about personal goal, but giving a hand to let others achieve their goal give a pure satisfaction. Others: Congratulations also to fellow runners from D'Runners Conspiracy.
